What is CMS?
When you've got your finished website how do you maintain it? Well with a CMS (Content Management System) of course. Which simply put is a software package which enables you to alter the content of your website very easily without getting your hands dirty with the nuts and bolts of all that messy coding.
The service I offer
I provide you with a website similar to the one you see here but obviously adapted to suite your own requirements which includes changes to the Header/Menu design and colour schemes including background colour (see the Web Design Gallery page for examples of header designs). The structure, however, remains the same. It is my design and it works very well with all the major web browsers. All the structure and coding is XHTML/CSS Web Standards. What you see is what you get.
I am strongly of the opinion, after close study of the subject, that a simple, clean, no nonsense, uncluttered website is very effective not only to the reader but to Search Engines too, provided you keep within their rules. This article backs this up
I look at it like this, if you have a great body, I haven't, but you probably have, hang on to it! If you don't like the clothes around your body you change them.
It can be adapted to one, two or three column layout to suit most requirements. It goes without saying that there are a many different needs and adjustments to cater for the product/service that the website is intended for, so the need for close discussion beforehand is essential as your content has then to be adjusted with search engines in mind (but not too much that makes it uncomfortable reading for the user). Not only here in Kent, UK but anywhere in any country.
The Content and
Search Engine optimisation
There are many, many aspects to website optimisation but one important one is Key Phrases or Words. With proper analysies I can find the best and relevent that applies to your product or service. Collaboration with yourself at this point is essential to give me a picture of your business, since you know your trade better than anyone.
Sometimes you have to look at it from a different angle. To give you an example, if someone was searching say....for a 'water proofing paint for a tank' and you sold an adhesive product that glued together wood, plastic and metal but if diluted would produce an excellent by-product for painting on for water proofing applications, the searcher is not to know this. So you would write in your content a paragraph or article about this extra use for your product. Thats On Page Optimisation.
There's also Off Page Optimisation which means gathering inbound links from sites related to your business. The more relevant and the more authoritive the link to your site the more the search engines will favour it and the higher your rankings will be, so with the combination of the On Page optimisation: it all helps your site up the SERP's listing. Thats the idea anyway!
As an example of what search engine optimisation can achieve see where the position is of my other site, J R Services, when the minimum search "washing machine repair kent" in Google is entered. (Bear in mind though that this is one of Google's UK datacentres, the position may differ if a search is done from another country or even region).

There is nothing like pictures to speak a thousand words about what you do. With an OVP you can produce a video, either with someone to do it for you or, with all the video camera and editing equipment available now at affordable prices, you can do it yourself. Then insert it in your own website or on YouTube. Sounds complicated but its really very easy. Play the video below by provider Bits on the Run. and see for yourself.
